Health and safety codes
Your community may have specific laws covering such facets of swimming pool ownership as water quality, life-saving equipment, and protective fences and gates. Some communities incorporate provisions for swimming pool construction in the health and safety code; you need to consult both your local health and building departments and the jurisdiction each department has in swimming pool construction and operation.
Additional regulations
Drought, an energy shortage, a swimming pool accident, or some other crisis often prompts additional government control. Local and national government agencies have considered.
- restricting the use of water for filling swimming pools,
- banning a specific type of swimming pools,
- requiring fencing and self-closing gates around swimming pools.
Utility companies and building and planning departments can tell you about any restrictions currently applicable in you community. |
